On Friday, 8th March, a workshop “Optical fibers and lasers” was held at the HiLASE Centre on the topic of construction of laser sources and light transmission systems.
The workshop presented new technologies of pumping and generation of laser radiation with very high powers. Representatives of Network Group and NorthLab spoke about the new technologies, who introduced and practically demonstrated a number of tools for fiber treatment – such as how to remove primary fiber protection, create a lens or taper at the end of the fiber, etc.
The HiLASE Centre has long strived to connect the activities of the research center with representatives of companies. The workshop confirmed the interest in advanced fiber optic technologies and powerful lasers in the near and middle infrared region.
