What will your day look like?
Primary (Core) responsibilities:
- Keeping laboratory organized, organizing optomechanical components, after laser optics handling and cleaning training organizing optics and optical components,
- Precise assembly of optomechanical devices,
- Making simple water/electric connections, cable management,
- Cleaning various components in the ultra-sound cleaner for a cleanroom environment,
- Performing simple mechanical tasks like drilling, cutting, sanding, etc. with power tools at our mechanical workshop,
- Reading manuals in English, preparing reports and presentations,
- Printing parts on a 3D printer,
- Work in a cleanroom environment, usually in laser glasses,
- Occasional moving of objects with a pallet truck,
- Communication with the Technical Department (in case of a facility or interlock issues)
Secondary responsibilities:
- Construction, installation, and repair of laser systems,
- Optical and optomechanical components installation,
- Preparation of progress reports,
Do you have what it takes?
Necessary skills:
- Great manual skills (optics handling, precise mechanics, and optomechanics assembly),
- Basic electricians’ skills (connecting cables, soldering, etc.),
- Basic plumbing skills (simple water connections),
- Basic knowledge of 3D printing on Prusa printers,
- Good Czech and English (speaking, reading and writing),
- Great computer skills (installing software, drivers, etc.) and MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Driving license category B (occasional business trips for laser installation/repair/maintenance)
Welcomed skills:
- experience in lasers and laser beam alignment,
- experience in CAD software- SolidWorks,
- experience in laser parameters measurement,

“I'm looking for someone who is highly motivated and ambitious, with a strong sense of ethics and morality, as they'll be handling very expensive items. The ideal candidate is responsible, well-organized, and values precision and cleanliness in their work. They should have good social skills, be friendly, and polite, as they will need to communicate with many people across the laser Centre. Proficiency in both Czech and English, including speaking, reading, and writing, is essential. I'm also looking for someone with the potential for loyalty who can imagine working here for at least 2 years or more, as your initial training and adaptation will take 1 year.”
