To make us a leader in lasers, like Lithuania. This is the goal of the LASER-PRO project Vědavýzkum.cz

The news website Vědavýzkum.cz wrote about the kick-off meeting of the LASER-PRO project, which took place last week at the HiLASE Centre. It was attended by 18 partners from the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Ukraine, as well as industrial partners of the Centre.

“The LASER-PRO project, which the participants describe as an initiative, kicked off with a large meeting in Dolní Břežany on 3 and 4 March 2025. The consortium members, together with other stakeholders, discussed the vision and structure of the project and its plans. “The project itself will last 4.5 years and will bring in €6 million for the whole consortium, with the HiLASE centre being the biggest beneficiary of the money. However, we don’t want the initiative to end in 4.5 years, we want to trigger real change,” says Tomas Mocek, head of the HiLASE Centre and project coordinator.”

The article mentions a number of important guests, whose speeches opened the public part of the meeting: from Gediminas Raciukaitis from FTMC, who showed how laser technologies have transformed the Lithuanian economy, to Professor Helena Jelíková from CTU in Prague, who focused on the long-term cooperation between academia and industry in this field.
