The Industrial Property Office awarded the members of the HiLASE Centre Scientific Team a patent to system for nonlinear optical elements controlled by an electric field. This unique system minimizes internal mechanical stress inside the crystal and reduces thermal effects or piezoelectric effects. This universal clamping device for high voltage optical elements is eliminating the adverse effects of temperature and frequency of the laser beam. The thermal effects and piezoeletric efects of optical non-linear crystals are also reduced. This holder is suitable for high average power pulsed lasers as a part of pulsepickers, regenerative amplifiers, Q-switchers etc. Inventors are Ing. Luděk Švandrlík and Ing. Martin Smrž, Ph.D.
