The HiLASE Centre laboratory used for measuring Laser Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT) has met the necessary requirements and was awarded with the ISO 9001 certificate. This quality management certification will help us further improve the quality of the services that we offer to our customers.
You can view the certificate HERE.
Our LIDT laboratory serves to find the maximum amount of optical energy that an optical component can withstand before sustaining damage. The awareness of this value is crucial for manufacturers of laser systems and components who want to create products of the highest quality.
The laboratory is equipped with a round Gaussian beam and a top hat beam in a 3×3 mm2 size. Our services in the LIDT area include metrology and monitoring of the test following ISO requirements, inspection of the sample before and after testing and observation of the damage during the test using advanced methods. These include in situ microscopy, fluorescence spectrum detection and laser scanning confocal microscope inspection.
