The third world record on the BIVOJ laser was achieved when converting to second harmonic frequency. Pulses with an energy of more than 68 J at a repetition rate of 10 Hz were generated at 515 nm wavelength, which t the time of writing is the world’s highest average power in the category of high energy (>1 J), high average power lasers.
It i salso important to note that, at the time of the record, the BIVOJ laser was only operating at 75% of its potential output power. Therefore, we can expect this threshold to be suprased again in the future.
The record was reched in collaboration with Central Laser Facility STFC, where the BIVOJ laser was constructed before it was moved to the HiLASE Centre.
