On Wednesday the 27th of November 2024, a group of delegates from the United Arab Emirates visited the HiLASE Centre. The visit was organised as part of the Czech-Emirati Industrial Days organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Abu Dhabi.
After meeting with Jan Brajer (Head of the Industrial Laser Applications Department), Sanin Zulić (Business Development Manager) and Radek Pobořil (Space Systems Engineer), they were introduced to the strategic direction of the Centre, including projects in the field of space activities. HiLASIANS presented, for example, the LASAR project, thanks to which part of the HiLASE Centre will go into orbit, as well as other ambitions in the field of laser communication or energy transfer.
This was followed by a tour of the experimental halls for Laser Shock Peening (LSP) and Laser Micromachining (LMM). The PERLA laser system, developed in the laboratories of the HiLASE Centre, was also presented. The tour inspired a final debate on industrial and space applications as well as possibilities for future collaborations.
“Wednesday’s excursion was just the culmination of discussions that have been going on since Monday morning. I firmly believe that we will be able to find the possibility of potential Czech-Emirati cooperation on some of the topics presented,” commented Jan Brajer on Wednesday’s visit.
