On Thursday, 20 July, journalists from prestigious Taiwanese newspapers visited the HiLASE Centre. The aim of their visit was to learn about successful and innovative projects in the Czech Republic and their potential for cooperation with Taiwanese subjects.
The HiLASE Centre (FZU) is a respected player in the field of high power lasers. Our ambition is to be the first-choice R&D partner for companies and research organizations looking for innovative laser technologies and solutions. We develop products and technologies that will push the boundaries of human knowledge, improve people’s everyday lives and contribute to the prosperity of the Czech and European economy. One example is laser structuring, in which we hold several world firsts and which enables us to create, for example, antibacterial surfaces for joint implants. In turn, laser shock peening technology can be used to increase the fatigue life of highly stressed components, e.g. in the aerospace or automotive industries. We have succesfuly cooperated with the Taiwanese Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Centre (NSRRC), and we hope to cooperate with the National Tsing Hua University and Taiwan Instrument Research Institute in the future.
