From classifying lasers into classes to selecting the right laser safety goggles – on Wednesday the 18th of September 2024, participants in the autumn Laser Safety Training were educated on these and other related topics.
The three-hour training with laser safety lecturer Helena Vohníková covered the basics of what every laser worker should know. Participants learned, for example, what the maximum permissible exposure levels are for each class of laser and what effects this radiation has on the eyes and skin. They also heard examples of laser accidents and were shown how to prevent similar situations.
Laser Safety Training (LST) is one of the training courses offered by HiLASE Laser and Safety Training Centre, by laser professionals for laser workers. You can attend two more LSTC training courses at the HiLASE Centre in the coming weeks:
- 25 September 2024 | Laser Maintenance | During this one-day course, participants will learn how to measure output parameters, clean optical components, and adjust the laser beam.
- 2 – 4 October 2024 | Laser Safety Officer | Detailed training with calculations and practical part in the laboratory will prepare participants for the profession of laser safety officer.
