On Monday, 19 July 2021, representatives of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office visited the science centres of the STAR region. At the HiLASE Centre, the delegation led by the Ambassador, Mr. Liang-Ruey Ke, was welcomed by Tomáš Mocek, Head of the HiLASE Centre, and Technology Transfer Specialist Bo-Anne Rohlík. During the presentation of HiLASE research and application potential, the Taiwanese representatives showed great interest in the technologies developed in Dolní Břežany. During the subsequent excursion, the visitors’ attention was particularly drawn to the parameters of the BIVOJ and PERLA laser systems. They were also interested in the Laser Shock Peening technology and the possibilities of its use by Taiwanese industrial enterprises. At the end of the meeting, both sides appreciated the long-standing successful cooperation of Taiwanese institutions with the HiLASE Centre and expressed their sincere interest in continuing this tradition in the future.
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office was established in Prague in 1991. The Office functions as the Representative Office of the Republic of China in Taiwan (ROC) and its main objective is to contribute to the development of mutual relations between the Czech Republic and Taiwan through cultural exchanges, scientific cooperation, tourism, business activities and investment.
