On Monday the 15th of April 2024, HiLASE Centre welcomed Minister of Science, Research and Innovation, Helena Langšádlová. She was welcomed by the director of the Institute of Physics, Michael Prouza, as well as Tomáš Mocek, head of the HiLASE Centre.
She first visited the Laser Shock Peening (LSP) experimental halls, where Jan Brajer (head of Industrial Laser Applications) introduced this progressive technology and its potential for industrial use. An excursion of the clean laboratories followed, including the PERLA and BIVOJ laser systems developed at HiLASE, introduced by the head of Advanced Laser Development, Martin Smrž. Last but not least, the visit was concluded with a presentation and lively discussion about the vision and development strategy for HiLASE and the STAR region in the upcoming decade.
Tomáš Mocek also expressed his support for the minister Helena Langšádlová in the preparation and enforcement of necessary changes in the area of technology transfer. “This is a step in the right direction toward the sustainable prosperity of the Czech Republic,” he stated.
