She was joined by Jiří Mužík (team leader of Thin-disk lasers), Jakub Horáček (head of Engineering and Technical Support), Petr Navrátil (senior researcher in High Energy Slab Lasers), Ondřej Denk (optical engineer: High Energy Slab Lasers) and Jan Šmaus (Laser Shock Peening technologist).
The training programme included the basics of lasers and fibre optics, the effects of laser irradiation, protective equipment, technical measures and the maximum permissible exposure values, risk assessment, important calculations and their application in practice, the basics of laser system setup inspection, as well as tours of the Centre’s experimental halls and laboratories. All candidates successfully completed the training with a test.
Congratulations to the newly qualified laser safety officers and we thank them for their participation! We look forward to meeting again at the LSO meet-up planned for this November.
