Laserman’s Handbook: A new title focused on laser technology launching today A Practical Guide to Laser Technology

Laser technology is now permeating all areas of industry, science, and everyday life – which is why it is important that education in this area provides comprehensive and up-to-date information. Quality education and reliable knowledge enable not only the effective application of laser technology, but also a safe and responsible approach to its use, which is essential for the further development of the field and its contribution to society.

Based on his experience with the lack of a comprehensive text that would cover the basics of laser theory with sufficient depth, but also with simplicity for practical application, our colleague Petr Hauschwitz decided to publish the Laserman’s Handbook. The idea was echoed by other leading experts in laser applications who joined as co-authors. Together, they have created a book that avoids excessive theory and provides readers with a practical approach, which sets it apart from other titles on the market.

“The Laserman’s Handbook aims to fundamentally improve the availability of high-quality, practically oriented information on laser technology for Czech-speaking readers. The book is designed to provide clear, applicable knowledge and facilitate the transition from theory to practice. In doing so, we expect it will increase efficiency and innovation in areas where laser technology is used and encourage further development in the field. It will nurture better-informed professionals and laser technologists,” explains Peter Hauschwitz.

The book is recommended for anyone who encounters lasers in their practice – from technical subject students at universities and colleges, to engineers and technicians in the fields of optics, machining and nanotechnology, as well as research and development managers who want to innovate and streamline their work processes using lasers.

The book contains 24 chapters, each devoted to a specific area of laser application. From the basics of laser technology, through laser micromachining, engraving, drilling, to cutting, marking, cleaning, hardening and other special applications. Laserman’s Handbook also includes updated insights on laser safety and simulation, offering a comprehensive view of the current status and challenges associated with the use of lasers.
