The workshop on Laser irradiation of gold: fundamentals and applications was held in the HiLASE Centre in June. The workshop was organised by the department of Scientific Laser Applications and hosted five HiLASE speakers: Nathan Goodfriend, Sergei Lisunov, Krystof Hlinomaz, Thibault Derrien and Oleksandr Gatsa, and a special online guest, Masaki Hashida-san, the associate professor of the Kyoto University
The workshop covered a wide range of topics from “Modeling of double-pulse irradiation of Au films in experimental conditions” to “Low energy droplet formation through double pulse laser induced forward transfer”.
Agenda
- Nathan Goodfriend | Low energy droplet formation through double pulse laser induced forward transfer
- Sergei Lisunov | Energy coupling at ultrashort laser excitation of gold: Modeling and comparison with the experiment on damage threshold
- Krystof Hlinomaz | Modeling of double-pulse irradiation of Au films in experimental conditions
- Thibault Derrien | Microscopic modeling of laser energy absorption in Au and Mo
- Oleksandr Gatsa | Picosecond-laser-induced damage and ablation of gold in water: Effects of the water layer thickness
