A new article in Hospodářské noviny focuses on the involvement of Czech manufacturers in global defence production chains, including the HiLASE Centre’s cooperation with the US company Lockheed Martin.
This project, which also involves One3D and PBS Velká Bíteš, uses modern technologies such as additive manufacturing, laser surface treatment and heat treatment in a vacuum furnace to produce the exhaust grille of an integrated power module. The ambitious collaboration would make the trio of Czech institutions part of Lockheed Martin’s international supply chain.
“It’s an ideal project. It combines a traditional industrial enterprise and a small, technologically very innovative company and research centre. In addition, it is linked to a development that has applications throughout the F 35 supply chain,” said the Ministry of Defence’s Konderl. She said Lockheed Martin has committed in the industrial cooperation agreement to seek further opportunities to collaborate in advanced technologies. Whether it’s in cybersecurity, sensors, or space technologies.”
