On Monday 4 October, fifteen talented students from the Benešov High School took the unique opportunity to visit the HiLASE laser centre together with one of our scientists, Jan Cvrček. During the lecture, the students learned how lasers work, what systems we build at the HiLASE Centre and how we use them for industry. But it didn’t stop with theory. The high school students also had a look at the experimental station for laser shock peening and got to see the “clean laboratories”. There they saw one of our fastest laser systems called PERLA, which is the perfect tool for laser micromachining thanks to its speed and precision.
Further tours for schools and the public are going to take place during the Academy of Sciences Week in November.
