HiLASE Centre Participates in the Development of an Acousto-Optic Modulator Based on a Monocrystal of Mercurous Chloride

The HiLASE Centre is a partner in the project Development of an Acousto-Optic Modulator Based on a Monocrystal of Mercurous Chloride, led by the main project partner, BBT-MATERIALS PROCESSING s.r.o.

Project duration: June 1, 2023 – June 1, 2026

The project focuses on developing a functional prototype of an acousto-optic modulator (AOM), which utilizes the acousto-optic effect to diffract electromagnetic radiation. This technology is expected to find future applications in telecommunications, spectroscopy, and laser-based systems.
The outcome of the project will be a functional prototype, with further iterations intended for functionality verification and testing in relevant environments.
