The HiLASE Centre has been part of the Green Company project already since 2015. Thanks to this, HiLASIANS have the opportunity to hand in their waste electrical equipment for reuse or recycling free of charge through the REMA collective System, thus making a significant contribution to environmental protection.
“As a Facility Manager, I see great advantages in the service provided, which is why I also involved the HiLASE Centre in the project. The process for ordering collections and boxes is set up excellently, everything is online. It’s a service that makes sense, and our employees use it a lot,” says Jakub Šumavský, who is responsible for the smooth running of the building and infrastructure at the HiLASE Centre.
As already mentioned, the service is provided completely free of charge. In addition to saving time and money on ecological disposal, it brings the entire company and employees a good feeling of being environmentally responsible.
The HiLASE Centre has been going green for a while. In 2021, we managed to obtain funding from the European Regional Development Fund, OP Environment, for the construction of a 280m2 solar power plant on the roof of the building. Thanks to the control system, we are also optimising the heating system and using residual heat in winter and residual cold in summer through heat recovery. In addition, a large part of the HiLASIANS regularly participate in the Bike to Work project, which helps to reduce CO2 emissions. In the future, we would like to make more use of, for example, topological design, which allows us to reduce material consumption as much as possible when constructing new equipment, or to get involved in electromobility.
