Prof. Nadezhda M. Bulgakova and Dr. Yoann Levy from the Scientific Laser Applications department of the HiLASE Centre took part in the international forum on Physics and Astronomy 2022, held this year in hybrid format, both online and in Valencia (Spain). Prof. Bulgakova and Dr. Levy both presented an invited contribution, entitled respectively “Can spatially and temporally shaped laser pulses be advantageous for laser propulsion?” and “Investigations on the laser-target coupling coefficient in the kHz-regime for laser space propulsion”. The talks were given in the workshop session organized by Claude Phipps (Photonic Associates LLC, New Mexico, USA) aiming at discussing different aspects of laser space propulsion.
