Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Jan Skopeček visited the HiLASE Centre on Wednesday the 17th of July. Alongside him, we also welcomed the president of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Eva Zažímalová, and its vice-president Jan Řídký.
Tomáš Mocek (Head of the HiLASE Centre) and Jan Brajer (Head of Industrial Laser Applications) welcomed them and introduced the activities of the laser centre to the Deputy Speaker. In the clean laboratories, they showed the BIVOJ and PERLA laser systems, used (among other applications) for Laser Shock Peening (LSP), Laser Micromachining (LMM) and Laser Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT). Lastly, they also visited the LSP experimental halls, where both industrial and experimental samples are treated.
