It is now 10 years since the project application for the HiLASE Centre was approved. In 2012, a modern building started to grow on the land in Dolní Břežany and in September 2014, the opening ceremony took place. The HiLASE Centre has been fully operational since 2016 and since then it has grown into a modern research centre with several world firsts.
Already in 2016, we were the first to break the magical one kJ mark on the Bivoj laser system, and on our tenth birthday, we set several world records: we increased the power of the Bivoj laser system to 145 J, we achieved a world record for the production rate of laser-induced periodic nanostructures on stainless steel, and we were the first to use a hard-to-believe 40,401 beams for multi-beam laser nanostructuring.
Take a look at the past 10 years in our photo gallery.
