Since 2016, the Bivoj laser system at the HiLASE Centre has been considered the laser with the world’s strongest average power in its category. Moreover, on Tuesday 26 January 2021, it exceeded its own world record set in 2016 by almost 40%. It was achieved by a team of scientists from the High Energy Slab Lasers group, led by Ing. Martin Divoký, Ph.D., in collaboration with UK partners from the Central Laser Facility STFC as part of the joint European HiLASE Centre of Excellence project.
