On Wednesday the 10th of April, another Laser Safety Training took place at the HiLASE Centre, led by Laser Safety Officer and Laser safety instructor Helena Vohníková.
The curriculum of this training includes laser classification, maximum permissible exposure amounts, protective eyewear, possible risks, safe working practices, as well as examples of accidents and near-misses.
Some participants also visited the laser laboratories and experimental halls of the Centre, in the company of Martin Smrž (Advanced Laser Development department head) and Martina Řeháková (Business Development Manager). In the clean spaces, they looked inside laboratories where fibre lasers and thin-disk technologies are developed, a testing station for the Laser Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT) industrial application, and visited the record-breaking BIVOJ laser system. In the experimental halls, they learned about two other industrial applications: Laser Micromachining (LMM) and Laser Shock Peening (LSP).
