We would like to invite all students interested in lasers and optics to the Day with lasers and photonics organised in collaboration Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. Within six lectures, a panel discussion, and excursions you will take a look inside the world of world-class research in this area and learn about the current opportunities and challenges.

HiLASIANS have prepared two talks for the attendants. Head of HiLASE Centre, Tomáš Mocek, will introduce the story of HiLASE and its path towards becoming one of the leading institutions in the area. Petr Hauschwitz, team leader of Laser Micromachining (LMM), will talk about his research in the area of surface nanostructuring for hydrophobic, hydrophilic, or antibacterial properties. During the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to visit HiLASE Centre, as well as the neighboring ELI Beamlines facility.
